Each category gets six points as per the assessments made. Furthermore, a “Top Product” badge is awarded by AV-test to any program that attains the score of 18.

This year, the “Top Product” badge was awarded to seven contenders - AhnLab V3 Internet Security 9.0, Bitdefender Internet Security 22.0, Kaspersky Lab Internet Security 18.0, McAfee Internet Security 20.5, Trend Micro Internet Security 12.0, VIPRE Advanced Security 10.1 and Avira Antivirus Pro 15.0. All these antivirus programs excelled well in getting top marks. Another interesting thing is that there wasn’t, any any contender that got low score this time, excluding ESET Internet Security 11.0 who got the lowest score of 15.

The antivirus programs that got the similar ratings are Avast Free Antivirus 17.7 & 17.8, AVG Internet Security 17.7 & 17.8, Bull Guard Internet Security 18.0, Comodo Internet Security Premium 10.0, F-Secure Safe 17, G Data Internet Security 25.4, K7 Computing Total Security 15.1, Microsoft Windows Defender 4.12, Micro World eScan Internet Security Suite 14.0, Norton Security 22.11, Panda Security Free Antivirus 1.0 and PC Pit stop PC Matic 3.0. All the assessments were made by AV-Test in an organized manner.

The most considerable part of the AV-Test evaluation method is that they have projected Windows Defender as a good security program. Interestingly, Windows Defender achieved this good ranking in comparison to its low ranking this year. Another good point is that Windows 10 OS is pretty resistant, and all the anti-virus programs work well on it.
